how we handle your data.

What we collect

Waitlist submissions. When you join the waitlist we store the name and email you provide, your optional answer to "what brings you to the deck?", and the tarot card we assign to you (deterministic per email address — the same email always gets the same card). We also record the browser referrer and any UTM parameters on your visit so we can understand which channels are working.

Request metadata. Our hosting provider (Vercel) logs standard web traffic metadata by default: IP address, user-agent, timestamp, request path. This is used to detect abuse and rate-limit the waitlist endpoint. The same IP and user-agent are persisted with your waitlist row for the same reason.

Cookies. This site does not set marketing cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics that require consent. If that changes before launch we will update this policy and add a consent banner first.

How we use it

Your waitlist record is used to send you exactly three kinds of email: a welcome message containing the tarot card assigned to you; the launch announcement; and occasional product updates between now and launch. No cross-promotion, no partner sends, no marketing automation funnels.

Where we store it

Waitlist submissions flow through a small self-hosted n8n workflow (runs on our own infrastructure) and are appended to a private Google Sheet owned by the SeeTarot team. Transactional email is sent via Resend using the seetarot.com sender domain. Site code is hosted on Vercel. None of these providers are granted rights to use your data beyond providing their respective services.

What we do not do

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties for marketing. We do not use your waitlist signup, your card assignment, or any future reading content to train AI models.

Your rights

You can unsubscribe from any email we send using the link in the message. You can request deletion of your record at any time — email us and we'll remove it within 7 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). California law gives you the right to know what personal information we collect, request access or a copy, request deletion, correct inaccuracies, and opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@seetarot.com. We will verify the request and respond within the statutory timeframe.

Residents of other U.S. states with comparable privacy laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others as enacted) have equivalent rights, which we honor on the same terms.

Children

SeeTarot is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information, contact us and we will delete the record.

Retention

Waitlist records are retained until you ask us to delete them or until 90 days after the product's public launch, whichever comes first. At that point unused records are purged.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect product or legal changes. The "last updated" date above will change when we do. Material changes will be announced via email to anyone on the waitlist.
